How to Get Your Oregon Form 1099-G (State Tax Refund Information)

If you received a state tax refund from Oregon last year, you may need Form 1099-G to accurately file your federal tax return. There was some confusion around this form last year—mainly because it’s not mailed anymore and must be accessed online.

Here’s what you need to know.

What Is Form 1099-G?

Form 1099-G reports certain payments you received from the state, most commonly:

  • Oregon state income tax refunds

Not everyone needs this form. Whether your refund is taxable depends on factors like whether you itemized deductions in the prior year. But if you do need it, you’ll want the correct information straight from the Oregon Department of Revenue.

How to Access Your Oregon 1099-G

The Oregon Department of Revenue provides Form 1099-G online only through its Revenue Online system. There are two ways to retrieve it:

Option 1: Quick Access (No Login Required)

  1. Go to Revenue Online

  2. In the Individuals section, click “View my 1099-G”

  3. Complete the online request form

This is often the fastest option if you don’t already have an account set up.

Option 2: Through Your Revenue Online Account

  1. Log in to your Revenue Online account

  2. Click on the “More Options” tab

  3. Select “View letters” under Letters and Messages

  4. Download your Form 1099-G

This method is helpful if you want access to prior-year documents as well.
