A vision for the future

I was going to write this vision down in my personal journal but then I decided, why not share it publicly? I mean, I'll tell you why I hesitate. It's because it scares me. It scares me because what if I speak it out and it doesn't happen? But I can't let that fear stop me...

So here's the vision I've been having for my business. I love helping small business owners. I love helping people achieve financial freedom and be able to support themselves doing things they love.

I've been helping individuals and small businesses with their taxes for 20 years. A few years ago I saw the need that small business owners had for accurate books and records, not just to relieve the stress of finding and totaling everything at tax time, but to also be able to see how your business is doing throughout the year, and have up to date financial statements for things like loans or selling the business.

I reached out to the local community for bookkeeper referrals that aligned with my own company vision and values, and that's how I met Angie Rayburn with ADR Business Services in Canby.

We now have a number of mutual clients and have been able to add value to both of our businesses by offering our clients trusted services and advise in the area of taxation and accounting.

I think the clients we share would agree that having their bookkeeping and taxes handled by professionals, especially professionals who can collaborate and speak with each other on behalf of our clients, has made their lives much less stressful, and allowed them to focus on running their own successful businesses, without having to worry about the things that go on behind the scenes, like taxes and accounting.

But there is still a gap. I see clients start businesses and then give up when they aren't being profitable, or they get to a point where they don't love what they are doing anymore because as their business has grown and evolved they've been forced into roles they don't enjoy, and worse, areas they aren't gifted or trained in.

Sometimes the best thing you can do for your business is hire someone smarter than you.

I see a need for business planning services, consulting, advise and guidance before you even start the LLC or "hang out your shingle" as the old adage goes.

I also see a need to provide other specialized services, such as payroll, HR, tax advisory, CFO, compliance, and acquisition and exit strategy planning. All these things can be important parts of owning and operating a successful small business.

I would love to develop a network of referral partners, or possibly build a company of my own, that has specially trained individuals in all of these fields, providing comprehensive business planning and execution, tools and strategies to develop and grow your business, while staying in compliance and saving money, all under one virtual roof.

And maybe even eventually all under a physical roof as well, as another dream of mine is to own commercial property.

The one thing I want to be careful and cognizant of as I set out on this journey of growth and expansion, is not to lose touch with the personalized service I know my clients appreciate and desire. I want to find a way to be able to scale my business to help more people, while not losing the personal small business feel.

I want you to know that I am looking at your tax return, and your overall financial situation every year, even if I'm not the one that's doing the data input, answering the phone, or scheduling your appointment.

I know this is going to be challenging, and I am prepared for bumps along the road. I hope you'll come along on this journey with me, and don't be afraid to give feedback. I want to hear from you. If something is working and you appreciate it, Google reviews help me out tremendously!

If something changes that you don't like, or something doesn't feel good, I want to know that as well (just maybe not in a Google review. Lol.)

For those types of situations, I would love to just get an email from you with your honest feedback, and I will do my best to make it right. I don't want to take this journey alone. I want you to come along with me on this adventure of growth, and maybe learn something yourself along the way that can help your business grow and be more successful also.

Because that truly is my passion and my hearts desire. I want to help more people become small business owners, to take control of their own financial freedom and future, to own something, to have equity, to have "skin in the game", to be able to do what you love and love what you do and be profitable doing it!

I'm excited for the future of Casler Financial, and whatever might come next. Let's take back ownership from the big corporations and help our small, local businesses survive and thrive.
